The Concert Room is a podcast session dedicated to all the great performances and performers who played on the stage at the legendary Philadelphia Spectrum Arena. The Spectrum held numerous events and concerts over 40 plus years of existence, earning the nickname America Showplace. The Spectrum was a special place for music fans and bands.

0:37 SPEAKER_00: Today we're going to listen to a performance by The Doors. The doors rolled into the Spectrum on May 1st, 1970. And they recorded the show for a couple live albums recorded.

2:22 SPEAKER_00: I believe the fill up the spectrum was set up as the theater. And what the spectrum used to do is it would put a curtain down halfway through the uh spectrum entire arena. So cut it in three quarters, maybe cut it half. Make it a little bit more intimate. But this is really interesting.

2:47 SPEAKER_00: And interestingly enough, um a couple days before Christmas. And in the middle of Robbie Krager's guitar solo here, he uh we like to improvising different things. And in this particular version of Light My Fire here at the spectrum, he uh threw in a little bit of my favorite things from sound of music. So it's it's pretty cool. So listen for that.
